That’s right ladies…meet The Bachelor heartthrob Sean Lowe at the Southern Women’s Show!

After falling for Emily Maynard last season on The Bachelorette, Sean knows the time is right for him to make the ultimate commitment to the right woman and to start his own family, as he stars in the next edition of ABC’s hit romance reality series, The Bachelor, which premieres January 7, 2013.

Sean, 28, a successful Dallas businessman and entrepreneur, totally charmed Bachelor Nation when he pranked Emily on his hometown date, fooling her into thinking initially that he still lived at home with his parents. This sincere, reliable all-American guy is confident that he will find his soul mate and a lasting, love-filled relationship this time on The Bachelor.

A real romantic, Sean loves to make a woman feel special and, as a life-long Texan, he holds Southern values close to his heart. He wants to propose once, be married once and live a faithful family life.

The 6’3” bachelor went to Kansas State on a full football scholarship and as a linebacker was part of the 2003 Big 12 Conference Championship Team. Sean also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. Although he started off his career in finance, he followed in his father’s footsteps in the insurance industry before committing to his new enterprise, owning and running an upscale, custom furniture business.

Meet Sean on the Fashion & Entertainment Stage at 1:30pm on Friday, February 15. He will greet fans and sign autographs until 5pm.

Orchid Paulmeier, finalist on The Next Food Network Star, Season 7

Owning a restaurant was always part of “Mama” Orchid Paulmeier’s American Dream. Growing up in a Filipino family in Chicago, Orchid learned the secrets of the kitchen early, picking up the fundamentals from her mother and grandmother. Orchid opened One Hot Mama’s, a SERG Group restaurant, handpicking the menu and mixing up all of the signature sauces herself. Blending time-tested Southern favorites like collards, cornbread and slow-cooked barbecue with her own homespun recipes, One Hot Mama’s serves up “comfort food with a kick.” Orchid auditioned for and won a slot on season seven of The Next Food Network Star. Her culinary creations were praised by the judges and she was consistently one of the leaders in the fan vote. The spotlight didn’t change Orchid’s priorities: Family, friends and food. Because nothing tastes better than that.

Orchid will be on the Cooking Stage Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 12:30pm!

Baptized in Sweet Tea

Veteran Southern writer Ken Burger has turned his daily news columns into a witty & insightful book filled with unforgettable images, incidents and characters from all aspects of Southern culture. ‘Baptized in Sweet Tea’ commemorates all that Ken loves about the South. This book is for an older southerner who longs to remember… for a younger southerner who’s only heard tell… even for a non-southerner who simply had no idea. There are words of wisdom here, but also prayers of confession. There is humor and pathos, but never too much of either, always just enough. While he may have been baptized in sweet tea, Burger’s essays are steeped in a bittersweet nostalgia for a way of life that’s passing into memory… and a reverence for those timeless qualities that abide. This sweet tea goes down easily.

Come see Ken on the Balancing Act Stage Friday at 12:30pm & 3:00pm and Saturday at 4:30pm.
